About Aubrey Michelle Jewelry

Jewelry made by hand, guided by heart, and shaped by the stories of the sea, the earth, and women throughout time.

There’s something quietly powerful about a piece of jewelry that carries meaning, a fossil touched by the ocean, a gemstone unearthed in a faraway land, a handmade strand of silk holding it all together. At Aubrey Michelle Jewelry, every piece is crafted by hand, one at a time, by me, Aubrey, using ethically sourced natural materials, treasures from the earth, and pieces of human history. Each creation is a modern talisman, designed to ground, inspire, and connect you to something deeper: the ancient, the feminine, and the beautifully mystical.

My journey into jewelry began when I was just eight years old, learning the magic of making by the side of a beloved family friend, a kind of grandmother figure, who first taught me how to string beads and honor the ritual of creation. What started as a childhood fascination became a lifelong devotion. Now, more than 25 years later, I continue to handcraft every piece myself, with the same sense of wonder, care, and reverence for beauty that first sparked it all.

I’ve always been a seeker of stories, and my academic background reflects that. I hold degrees in Art History and Italian, with a focused study in ancient and modern Mesoamerican artByzantine artwork, and the power of the female gaze throughout time. That gaze, the way women have seen and shaped the world, remains a guiding force in my life and work. Jewelry, to me, is a form of storytelling. It can reclaim, honor, and awaken. It can remind us of who we are, where we’ve been, and who we’re becoming.

Travel is another central thread in my creative life. I roam often, led by intuition, seeking artifacts, fossils, ocean-worn relics, and natural gemstones to bring home and transform into pieces that carry the spirit of place and time. From a tiny coastal village in southern Italy to sun-washed markets in Mexico, to the deep blues of the California coast, every journey offers materials that speak, waiting to become something meaningful. Many of my collections are love letters to beach towns that have left their mark on my soul. Montecito, Sayulita, Sestri Levante - places where the sun feels golden, the pace slows, and the salt air carries something sacred.

When I source, I do so with intention. Every gemstone, fossil, shell, or relic is ethically gathered, often in partnership with women-led businesses and artisans around the world. These relationships matter deeply to me. They’re part of the lineage of care that shapes every creation. I choose to work with materials that carry weight and wonder: opalized ammonites, ancient beads, luminous labradorite, jade carved with purpose. These aren’t just ornaments. They’re offerings; everyday reminders of magic, strength, intuition, and the feminine divine.

Whether you’re drawn to a statement piece for a rite of passage, or a subtle necklace you wear like a second skin, my hope is the same: that it feels like it belongs to you. That it holds something for you; protection, good fortune, a little wildness, or simply a memory of a place you love. My work is made for dreamers, for saltwater souls, for those who walk barefoot more often than not. It’s for those who believe in the old ways - in talismans, amulets, sacred adornment, but who live in this modern world and want to carry a little magic into every day.

Aubrey Michelle Jewelry is a lifestyle, one rooted in reverence for the earth, the ocean, and the lineage of women who create, nurture, and gather beauty. My pieces are inspired by tidepools and temples, moonlight and myth, archaeology and intuition. They are both ancient and modern, both earthy and celestial.

This is slow jewelry, made with intention. Made for my beautiful tribe of supporters, women who see the sacred in the small, who honor their inner world, who adorn themselves not just with style, but with meaning.

Thank you for being here.

Thank you for wearing pieces that carry the stories of the sea, the soil, and the stars.

With love and gratitude,

Aubrey
